LIHU’E — The body of a 47-year-old Lihu’e man was found Wednesday morning in
the Kapaia Stream behind the Sun Village Kaua’i condominiums.
The man,
identified as John Auch, a resident of Sun Village, had been missing since
Sunday.
Auch was found by KPD Sgt. Sylvester Oliveira, who was part of a
police department search team, at 9:10 a.m. Wednesday.
Police said the
man’s death did not appear to be related to foul play.
An autopsy will be
performed at Wilcox Memorial Hospital to determine the cause of death.
Auch
was last seen at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Sun Village. He was reported missing by
his girlfriend around 3 p.m. Monday.
On the same day, friends searched for
Auch near the Sun Village complex. When they weren’t able to find him, police
were notified of his disappearance.
KPD subsequently mounted its search
effort on Wednesday morning.
