LIHU`E – The Kaua`i Cowboys will play four home games in their 2000 season that
kicks off on May 6 with an ‘away’ game as the “home-grown” team will be winging
over to Oahu where they will meet the Koolau Monarchs at a game scheduled for
Castle High School starting at 7 p.m.
On May 13, the Cowboys will be at the
University of Hawai`i field to tangle with Na Kani Koa starting at 7 p.m.
A
fund-raiser huli huli chicken sale was already conducted at the Big Kmart
parking lot to help offset some of these team expenses, and according to Shawn
McGurrin, residents can also help by purchasing season tickets which are good
for the four home games.
Kaua`i’s first home game will be against the Hilo
Storms on May 20 at Vidinha Stadium with kickoff scheduled for 6 p.m.
May
27 will be the Cowboys’ second home game against Na Kani Koa with kickoff
scheduled for 6 p.m. at Vidinha Stadium, and on June 3, the Cowboys will be
hosting the Kihei Heat for another 6 p.m. start at Vidinha.
The final home
game will not happen until June 24 when the Koolau Monarchs visit Vidinha for a
7 p.m. kickoff.
