I would like to thank The Garden Island for its March 19th article about Kauai
Electric’s residential Energy Wise Programs and KE’s collaboration with the
County Housing Agency which makes solar water heating more affordable to many
Kauai residents.
I would also like to thank those who have called the
Energy Wise office to inquire about participating in the program.
The
residential Energy Wise Program is in its third year of providing customers
with energy-saving information and the installation of free energy saving
devices to households that heat their water electrically.
While KE is
finding a surprisingly large number of customers have already installed solar
water heating, there are many who have not. Many residents of Kaua’i and
customers of Kauai Electric can benefit from installing solar water heating in
their homes.
Hopefully the combination of solar rebates from Kauai
Electric and low interest loans from the County Housing Agency will make solar
water heating installations possible for a greater number of people.
The
exposure that was received from The Garden Island article has helped our
efforts immensely.
