tractor operator for Hawaiian Fruit Packers, he was born April 16, 1926, in
Kapa’a.
He is survived by his sons, Alfred Reis, Jr. of California and
Joseph Reis of Anahola; six daughters, Victoria (Kenneth) Nation of California,
Evangeline (Daniel) Kaneholani Reis of Anahola, Jennifer (Poki) Camacho of
Guam, Catherine (Francisco) Ignacio of Guam, Natalie, and Doreen (Samson)
Caspillo of Makaweli; one hanai daughter, Terrilyn Makanani of Anahola; three
sisters, Alexshandrina Ebinger of Wailua, Ida Martin of Missouri and Lydia
Cardova of South Carolina.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11:45 a.m. on
Saturday, March 18, at Borthwick Kaua’i Mortuary Chapel in Koloa; service at
12 p.m. Inurnment to follow. Casual or aloha attire suggested.
Casual
attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick
Mortuary.

John Almeida, Jr. of Koloa died March 10,
2000, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital, at the age of 89.
A retired heavy
equipment operator for grove farm, he was born Oct.10, 1910, in
Mahalapu.
He is survived by his sisters, Emily (Henry) Johnson of
California, Evelyn Charman of O’ahu; one brother, William Almeida of O’ahu; two
half brothers, Ernest Almeida of Koloa and Daniel Moke, Sr., of Koloa; one half
sister, Alice (John) Maglinti of Kalaheo; caregiver, Louise Almeida of Lawa’i;
and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be from 9 to 9:45
a.m. on Friday, March 17. Mass at St. Rafael’s Church at Koloa at 10 a.m.
Inurnment at church cemetery to follow. Casual or aloha attire suggested.
