The Kaua’i Interscholastic Federation has chosen senior forward Brad Lum-Tucker
as the Player of the Year in boys basketball.
Lum-Tucker, a three-year
starter, helped lead the Kaua’i High School Red Raiders to the KIF championship
and a spot in the state tournament.
He scored 20 points a game and was also
a key factor off the boards and in team leadership.
Teammate Mason Ceria, a
senior who continued to blossom as the season went along, was chosen as a KIF
All-Star along with Lum-Tucker.
Two players from the Kapa’a Warriors and
two players from the Waimea Menehunes were also chosen as All-Stars.
John
Patch and Kapu Hendrickson were the Warrior selections.
Patch was dominant
off the boards at both ends of the court and at the low post on offense.
Hendrickson was a play-making guard with a soft shooting touch.
Adam Henkel
and Jesse Erese were the Waimea Menehune choices. Both were three-point
artists, and both were key members of the fast-breaking, hard-working,
ball-hawking Westsiders.
Kaua’i High School’s Buzzy Cox was the choice for
Coach of the Year.
