Calvin Watase
Calvin Shiro Watase, of Lihue, Kauai,
died on March 1, 2000, at the age of 74.
Born in Hanapepe, Kauai on July
15, 1925, he was a retired Mechanic with GTE Hawaiian Tel Co., and also a
United States Army veteran. He is survived by his wife: Kate Watase of Lihue,
Kauai; one son: Kent (Elsie) Watase of Mililani, Oahu; two daughters: Renee
Watase of Aiea, Oahu and Cora (Gordon) Newman of Kailua, Oahu; six
grandchildren; two brothers: Pat (Ann) Watase, Sr. of Lihue, Kauai and Kenzo
(Ito) Watase of Hanapepe Hts., Kauai; five sisters: Teruko Sakakida of
Honolulu, Oahu, Sumako (Rupert) Hashimoto of Honolulu, Oahu, Kaoyo (Harry)
Otsuka of Lihue, Kauai, Marilyn (Thomas) Caulfield of Honolulu, Oahu, Amy
Christian of Tualatin, OR.
Numerous uncles aunts, nieces, nephews and
cousins
Friends may visit with the family at 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 5 at
the Lihue Baptist Church; service officiated by Rev. Don Gentry will begin at
4:30 p.m. Interment will be held on Monday, March 6, 10 a.m. at the Kauai
Memorial Gardens cemetery. Casual attire is suggested and flowers omitted.
