won the KIF Championship Swimming Meets on Saturday at the Waimea

Most of the Waimea boys also improved on their personal best
times.
For the Kaua’i girls, it was an unprecedented sixth championship in
a row.
Individual double-winners were Waimea’s Ryann Fernandez, Fred Flores
and Maurice Payes.
Other individual event winners were: Kaua’i High’s Mia
Braverman, Patricia Cockett, Jeni Shibata, Matt Murray and Malie Matsumoto;
Waimea’s Bo Domingcil, Ipo Kamakele, Jack Flores, Mayan Fierro and Zac Thielen;
and Kapa’a’s Malia Dowling and Kainani Torio.
The Kaua’i High girls and
Wiamea boys teams will move on to the state swimming meet to be held Friday and
Saturday, Feb. 18-19 on Maui.
