Estanislao Aluag of Kekaha died Jan. 28, 2000, at his home at the age of 92. A cane carrier for Kekaha Sugar Plantation, he was born Aug. 12, 1907, in the Philippines.
He is survived by his wife: Florence Fellez Aluag of Kekaha; five sons: Roland (Aura) Aluag of California, Stanley (Rose) Aluag of O’ahu, Steven Aluag of Philadelphia, Albert Aluag of O’ahu, and Milton (Pulani) Aluag of California; one daughter: Audrey (Paul) Swanson of California; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may call on Friday, Feb. 4, at Kekaha Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Kekaha Hawaiian Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.

Fernando Pascua Tiu of Kapa’a died Jan. 30, 2000, at Wilcox Hospital at the age of 36. A dishwasher for Eggbert’s, he was born April 6, 1963, in Tondo, Manila, Philippines.
He is survived by his parents; Manolo and Enriqueta Tiu of Kaua’i; his wife: Genedina Tiangco Tiu of the Philippines; two sons: Enly Tiangco Tiu and Kenly Tiangco Tiu, both of the Philippines; one daughter: Genifer Tiangco Tiu of the Philippines; one sister: Maria Teresa P. Tiu of Hawai’i; one brother: Eric Glenn P. Tiu of Hawai’i; grandmothers: Rosania Aglibot Tiu and Isang Pilongo, both of the Philippines; several nieces, and nephews.
Friends and family may call on Friday, Feb. 4, at St. Catherine’s Church in Kapa’a from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. where Mass will be celebrated at 8 p.m. Casual attire is suggested.

Beatrice Mier Whitney of Lihu’e died Jan. 29, 2000, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 64. A waitress for Tip Top Restaurant, she was born March 8, 1935, in ‘Ele’ele.
She is survived by one daughter: Coleen (Francis) Hirota of O’ahu; two sisters: Carol Bigno of ‘Ele’ele and Ramona Nakaahiki of Kekaha; two brothers: Sam Mier of Colorado and Joe Mier of California; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may call on Wednesday, Feb. 2, at Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 8 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. where services will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Kaua’i Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe. Casual attire is suggested.
