– HPAC pro-am surf comingBARKING SANDS — The Vans Kaua’i Classic, a

Hawaiian Pro/Am Circuit surfing contest, is coming to Kaua’i.

The contest

is scheduled with a waiting period of Feb. 6-13 at Major’s Bay.

Many of

Kaua’i’s top amateurs and pros and some of Hawai’i’s top amateurs and pros

will be competing.

Surfing will happen from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on contest

KAPA’A — Registration has begun for the Kapa’a teams in the Kaua’i

Junior Olympics Softball League.

– AJA games at Vidinha Sunday

LIHU’E — The Kaua’i AJA

Baseball League games scheduled for this Sunday have been switched from

Hanapepe Stadium to the Vidinha Stadium baseball complex.

The games start

at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

– USGA junior golf qualifying


qualifying for the 2000 USGA Junior Championship will be held June 29-30 at the

Waikoloa Kings Course.

The tourney is open to boys and girls who haven’t

turned 18 by midnight, Aug. 5, 2000.

The 2000 USGA Junior Championship will

be held July 31 through Aug. 5 in Oregon.
