Allan On Shak of Cupertino, Calif., and formerly of Kapa’a,died Jan. 1, 2000, at the age of 71. Born in Kapa’a, he was an industrial engineer, retired from Philco-Ford Corporation.
He is survived by his wife, Lovelle; daughter Leslie Strommer, son Joseph, three grandchildren, sister Lily Au Hoy, brothers Harold, Clarence, Arthur and Lawrence.
Memorial services were held Jan. 7 in Palo Alto, Calif.
Patrick Kaikuaana
Patrick Kaikuaana of Lihu’e, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Jan. 13, 2000, at the age of 66. Born in Kau, Big Island on May 31, 1933, he was a retired Receiving Clerk with Lihue Sugar Plantation, and also a Veteran of the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife: Mae Kaikuaana of Lihu’e; two daughters: Peggy (Raymond) Jerves of Anahola and Loel (Levi) Kaikuaana of Kekaha; one daughter-in-law: Marla Kaikuaana of Wailua Homesteads; 12 grandchildren; two brothers: Harry (Kalei) Kaikuaana and Moke (Ethyl) Kaikuaana, both of the Big Island; one sister: Lillian (Delbert) Whitney of the Big Island; one sister-in-law: Dinah Kaikuaana of the Big Island; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 22, at the Kaua’i Veterans Cemetery Pavilion; service officiated by Pastor Gerald Sulliban will begin at 11 a.m. Followed by interment at the Kaua’i Veterans Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.
