WAIMEA — Ed Roessler hit four 3-pointers and scored a game-high 19 points to
lead the Kapa’a High School junior varsity basketball team to a
come-from-behind 52-46 victory over the Waimea Menehunes Tuesday at the Waimea
gym.
The Warriors didn’t score a basket in the first quarter and trailed
8-0 going into the second quarter.
Kapa’a (1-0) roared back in with 15
points in the second quarter to trail the Menehunes by four, 19-15, at the
half. Kapa’a outscored Waimea 37-27 in the second half.
Garrett Danner also
hit double figures for Kapa’a with 11 points. Waimea was led by Oliver
Villanueva and Desmond Rodrigues with 13 points each.
