A recent visitor to Kauai was hospitalized after reporting he was assaulted and knocked unconscious near Kalapaki Beach following a late-night dance. Was this an isolated incident or do you think visitors have reason to fear for their safety when on Kauai?

A. Our visitors are absolutely safe. This was a rare incident. There could be more to this story than we’ve heard.
B. There are folks out there who will do harm to not just visitors, but anyone. All of us need to be careful, especially at night and in the early morning hours.
C. Kauai is not immune to the violence that goes on all around the world. This reported assault, unfortunately, isn’t anything unusual and isn’t cause for alarm.
