Randford (Randy) Lee Canales
Randford (Randy) Lee Canales passed away on Oct. 16, 2018, at the age of 56. Born in Lihue on Jan. 9, 1962, he was an auto body mechanic for Advance Auto Body in Modesto, California.
He was preceded in death by father Emilio Canales and sister Beverly Philips.
He is survived wife Marrya Bell, sons Levi (Tashiana) Canales, Rejis Canales and Andrew Canales, daughters Kyra (John) Canales and Healani Canales, stepchildren Tyler (Ashley) Hale and Krista Bell, brothers Blaine (Linda) Yaris, Salvador (Wendy) Yaris Jr. and Rodney Canales, sisters Waedeen (Eddie) Yaris and Rodreen Canales Boyd, mother Alice Canales, and four grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be on Saturday, Jan. 12, at Niumalu Beach Park pavilion at 4:30 p.m. This is a potluck, BYOB gathering.
His ashes will be scattered in a private ceremony with close friends and family.
Bartholomew Davis
Bartholomew Davis, 51, of Kalaheo, passed away on Jan. 5, 2019, at his home. He was born in San Pedro, California, on Jan. 12, 1967. He was a glazer at Pacific Mirror &Glass.
He was preceded in death by his papa, David K. Kuhia Sr.; father David K. Kuhia Jr., brother, David K. Kuhia III, and sister Inoa Piohia.
He is survived by wife Priscilla Davis, sons Bartholomew Davis Jr. and Josiah Davis, daughters Chasity (Kawika) Davis-Leopoldo, Cierra Davis, Pomai Davis and Esther Davis-Choy, five grandchildren, mother Aina Kalanui, Frances Hernandez, brother Sean Kuhia, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Private services will be held at a later date.
Kauai Memorial Gardens &Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Matsuko Shigeta Doi
Matsuko Shigeta Doi, 93, of Honolulu, died in Honolulu on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2018. She was born in Moloaa.
Visitation will be at 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at Lihue Christian Church, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Inurnment will follow at Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe.
Catherine Rodrigues Perreira
Catherine Rodrigues Perreira, 71, passed away on Dec. 13, 2018.
She was born on Dec. 2, 1947.
She served as a sergeant and light wheel mechanic in the U.S. Army.
She is survived by daughter Daniece M. Perreira of Michigan, son Robert Perreira of Virginia, and four grandsons.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, Jan. 14 at noon at the Hanapepe Kauai Veterans Cemetery.
Dolores ‘Dolly’ ‘Doding’ Teresa Espina
Dolores “Dolly” “Doding” Teresa Espina, 85, of Lihue, passed away on Dec. 23, 2018, at Garden Isle Healthcare. She was born in Kilauea on April 23, 1933. She worked as a floor clerk at Kapaa Big Save.
She was preceded in death by husband Rufino Espina Jr., sons Gregory “Greg” Espina and Michael “Mikey” Espina, parents Esteban and Fortunata Largusa, sisters Modesta (Nicanor) Razonable, Linda Largusa, Magdalena Largusa and Adrian Mandep, brothers Bonificio, Ben, Frank, Nador, Raleigh and Norman Largusa, and Adrian Mandep.
She is survived by daughters Roxanne (Peter) Hiltsley and Priscilla Espina, son Edward (Peggy) Espina, brothers Domingo (Janet) Largusa, Robert (Dolly) Mandep and Justin (Beatrice) Tactay, sisters Aurea (Phil) Laymon, Loretta (Kenneth) Goode and Elaine (Michael) Prebula, 17 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 19, at St. Catherine Church in Kapaa. Viewing will begin at 9:30 a.m. with Mass celebrated at 11 a.m.
Inurnment will take place at Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe on Tuesday, Jan. 22.
