Recently, the Kapaa Transfer Station has been closed due to mud. The administration stated several years ago that they planned to lay cement due to the muddy conditions; however, as of today it has not been done. When does the administration intend to address this issue?
A design contract is in the works to improve the Kapaa transfer station which includes the green waste handling. The design is expected to be completed by the middle of next year and construction is currently scheduled for the first quarter of 2020.
Kekaha
When does the administration plan to repair the cracked asphalt that has been uprooted by tree roots in the parking lot of the Kekaha Neighborhood Center?
County of Kauai staff did not find uprooted asphalt due to tree roots. However, the cracks are due to settling of the asphalt and the base. The repaving of the site will be scheduled at a determined date.
