Kudos to Bryden Kaauwai (he wasn’t playing in the band Thursday, said Nina Saraos) and his Red Raider organizers on the first Raider Parade celebrating homecoming at Kukui Grove Center (Melissa McFerrin-Warrack said she never experienced anything like it before).

Kudos to Waimea High School Homecoming Queen Brandie Aguinaldo and Miss School Spirit Dawn Serapio (sister Kaye had a really strong showing during the Wednesday night volleyball games) for showing up “to support.”
Sarah Tochiki had her Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School Band (she said she couldn’t say “no” to Bryden) leading off the parade. She said the Kauai All-Island Band’s next destination is Japan, and they are looking forward to working with the Tachibana High School Marching Band, and when you take more than 100 band members, it makes Kukui Grove Center resonate with music.
Kudos to Kalani Vierra on getting Friday named his day by Mayor Bernard Carvalho Jr. The recognition is part of the congratulatory message Kalani received after being inducted into the Hawaii Waterman Hall of Fame (do you realize he is only one of three Kauai people reaching this level of accomplishment, the other two being Prince Jonah Kuhio and Sharron Weber of Tire Warehouse, who was inducted in 2016?).
