Is he possibly a justice prejudicial against Hawaiians or a constitutionalist seeing merit in an appeal for justice regarding the fraudulent annexation of the Hawaiian Islands?
The statehood vote should have reflected the wishes of the indigenous people only. Recompense for human rights and U.S. Constitution violations against Hawaiians is possible.
The United States overthrew the Hawaiian nation for financial gain and strategic military position.
Are those similar motives to China’s atrocities against Tibet and East Turkestan Uyghurs or Russia’s illegal annexations of surrounding territories or Iran’s military presence in Syria?

Leading by example, Hawaii’s representatives in Congress should introduce a Hawaiian sovereignty bill, giving the legislative, judicial and executive branches a chance to do what is right.

Good points on the overthrow of Hawai’i. One issue is sustainability. Should Hawai’i have been runned over? No. But like Tahiti, a new government. That is life. No choice. We like it too.

Yes, Mazie tried to obstruct the confirmation of this Justice of the Supreme Court, and it was laughable how miserably she failed. She actually called attention to important items which most people were otherwise unaware of, such as a very detailed, excellent amicus brief written by Kavanaugh in 1999 in the Supreme Court Rice v. Michele Lincoln will be pleased to know that there was a Hawaiian sovereignty bill in Congress for 13 years, from 2000 through 2012. The bill was so awful that it never got to the floor of the Senate, and it died forever in December 2012 when Senator Inouye died and Senator Akaka resigned. Good riddance!
In 1898, when the U.S. accepted requests from Hawaii to join the U.S., the population of Hawaii was around 125,000 with less than 50,000 native Hawaiians. It was clearly a mixed-race kingdom and republic.
To suggest that we should now institute a race-based legal system is pure racism, by definition. The fact that Kavanaugh opposes this kind of racism should encourage all of us who don’t want racism promoted. The law of the land should be the same for all citizens, regardless of their color or skin.

OK, I’ll bite, even though your letter is long on rhetoric and short on specifics. What exactly is a “Hawaiian sovereignty bill”? Who or what is a Native Hawaiian? How do you define a Hawaiian? Anyone who resides in Hawaii? How do you test to determine if someone is Hawaiian so that they would reap benefits other multi-generational locals would not? Who first came to Hawaii? Philippine ancestors is the best guess followed by Polynesians from outside Hawaii. What about mixed bloodlines and percentages of ethnicity? How about some specifics instead of broad condemnations.
You are asking her to stray from the “Cultural Mafia” rhetoric and bullet points. Ask anyone that desires this “Hawaiian Sovereignty” the hard question “WHY”? and you will get deer in the headlights stare. It is purely a perceived racial issue.

Remember in 2000 the U.S. Supreme Court decided 7 to 2 that OHA and the State Constitution not allowing Rice to vote was unconstitutional, and in 2009, that the Apology law used by the Hawaii State Supreme Court was wrong in resolving ceded lands issues. Yes, ceded lands belong to all the citizens of the State of Hawaii. The Constitution and legal Hawaiian history has one group of Hawaiians, and that is all the citizens of the State of Hawaii, as was stated in the 1894 Constitution of the Republic of Hawaii. (Note, my grandmother was born on Kauai Oct. 17, 1894, as a citizen of the Republic of Hawaii and in 1898 under the Organic Act became a citizen of the Territory of Hawaii,) The only other sub-group under Hawaiians are the native Hawaiians (small “n”) established in 1920 by Congress for the Hawaiian Homes Commission Act. Also, native Hawaiians are not indigenous to the Islands of Hawaii and never was. What Sen. Hirono exposed, was the unconstitutional racial programs funded by the Federal government, and eventually to be challenged in Congress and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Good luck on your quest for freedom. I was born and raised in San Francisco in the dark primeval past known as… before the hippies, and my family had been there a while before in the quest for gold. The City is just like Kauai- same size physically the places both attract the best and the brightests capatalists from around the Globe. Unfortunately when you live in such luck to see the price of your home or condo go up 2000%, as we did in the City you take the money and move to a quieter place. And as I have taken the money and run another native leaves San Francisco and a family moves in from Tokyo, and I displace the one here in Kauai. The reason the outsiders have taken over San Francisco is because folks sold there homes with an unlimited supply of rich people bidding up your asking price. Just like Kauai. The rich people like it here, and there is no care about anything Hawaiian on the mainland. Never will be. They never give stuff back that they stole fair and square from you or me. Such is living in the USA.
