Logan Parr of Oregon and Philip Booyer enjoy Wednesday afternoon outside the Eden Coffee trailer.

Gerald Hirata and his Kauai Soto Zen Temple ‘ohana (make sure you check out Chef Carla Dusenberry’s menu of goodies) host the temple’s bon dance starting tonight (also a good chance to visit the Hanapepe Art Night), and tomorrow with a guest appearance by Torao Hikariyama during the intermission. This is the final bon dance on the Kauai Buddhist Council calendar for 2018, but Josie Pablo said people are invited to more bon dance fun and food (check out the Arnold Leong flying saucers!), Aug. 10 when the Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital hosts its bon dance in the hospital’s courtyard.
