Jane Satsuko Kashiwabara
Jane Satsuko Kashiwabara, 84, of Lihue, passed away at home on July 13, 2018. She was born in Kapaa, Kauai on Oct. 21, 1933, was a dedicated homemaker and volunteered with County Agency of Elderly Affairs.
Jane is survived by her husband, Richard Kashiwabara Sr.; 9 children, Amy (Wayne) Arakaki, Grace (Danny) McCluskey, Dean (Yang) Kashiwabara, Willy (Lani) Kashiwabara, Ken Kashiwabara, Richard Kashiwabara Jr., Susan (Rolland Jr.) Peahu, Sharon Kashiwabara, Carol Orr; 19 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; sister, Alice Victorino; sister-in-law, Mini Maeno; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at Kauai Veterans Center in Lihue with visitation from 10:30 to 11:45 and services beginning at noon. A private burial will be held at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Mariano L. Manera, Jr.
Mariano L. Manera, “Jr.”, 57 years old, passed away on July 4, 2018, at Straub Hospital. He was born on Aug. 14, 1960, in Lihu’e, Hawai’i. Jr. was a Field Supervisor for Lihu’e Plantation Company, as well as the owner of Myron’s Restaurant. He then worked for AJAR, Inc., as a Water Resource Supervisor, then worked as a Security Officer for Samuel Mahelona Hospital, and most recently, a caregiver for a private company.
Preceded in death by his father, Mariano L. Manera, Sr., Jr; is survived by his wife, Mercedes Manera; daughter, Shauna Manera of San Francisco, CA.; sons, Myron, Christian, and Marique Manera of Lihu’e. He is also survived by his mother, Consolacion Manera of Hanamaulu; brothers, Mario (Tracy) Manera of Atlanta, GA, Max (Adele) Manera of Lihu’e, Michael (Cindra) Manera of Lihu’e, and Gilmark Manera of Taylor, MI. Only sister, Caroline (Bobby) Texeira of Kapa’a. Numerous nieces and nephews, as well as his many uncles and aunts.
He was a loving son, brother, husband and father and will be missed dearly.
Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, July 17, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary in Koloa, and on Wednesday, July 18, at Immaculate Conception Church in Kapaia, 8:30 to 9:45 a.m., where mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will be at the Kaua’i Memorial Gardens. Casual attire.
