The jury is still out on which Wailua Shave Ice flavor was the most popular during the Kauai Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours at Kauai Realty in Lihue Thursday, where it was nice to put a face to Star FM94.3.

Of course, the other radio stations — KQNG Radio Group (which shave ice flavor, Ron Wiley?), and FM97 (Ron Wood was trying to get to the Women In Theatre preview night) — were also present, as was Dickie Chang of “Walaau,” who was scheduled to emcee the Ilima Rivera flood relief gathering Saturday in Kealia.
Kudos to Tad Miura Sr., Eric Yama, Clifton Kukino, and all those Kauai Realty people for all the aloha (and goodies) like the gourmet-
packaged chili peppa watah that Joyce Vidinha of First Hawaiian Bank won through random giveaway.
Joyce is joining a bunch of the Kauai County Farm Bureau members (Johnny Gordines was there) in checking out the State Farm Bureau Fair on Oahu this weekend, and Hawaii Farm Bureau’s executive director is coming over to help Kauai when our farm fair opens on Aug. 16.
Carol Manera Texeira (she had family from Georgia and Germany in the house!) said seats are going fast for the 4th Mayor’s Luncheon. Laurie Yoshida said she has to deliver all the Pioneer (er, Corteva, agriculture) checks to the schools early because of the luncheon at the Koloa Landing Resort in Poipu.
