Two Kauai residents recently received degrees from Western Governors University.
The online, nonprofit university celebrated the recent graduation of more than 15,000 students from across the country. They included:
• Denise Woods of Kapaa received her bachelor of science in nursing degree.
• Jennifer Pratt of Lihue has received her bachelor of science in nursing degree.
WGU has recognized 8,938 undergraduate and 6,734 graduate degree recipients since January 1. Their areas of study include business, education, information technology and health professions.
The average time to graduation for those earning bachelor’s degrees was two years, four months, while the average time to degree for graduate programs was one year, seven months. The average age for those who graduated is 38.
