Kauai Guildas is looking for people to adopt students going back to school.
The Guildas, an auxiliary helping serve the families of Child and Family Service Kauai, need help equipping students for going back to school. In many cases, the students are referred by a CFS social worker.
A person adopting a child contacts Sharon Lasker of the Backpack Brigade at 652-6534. Lasker will forward a child’s name and appropriate information so the adopter can purchase an age-appropriate backpack and school supplies.
For those who want someone else to do the shopping, contributions can be made to CFS Kauai with a “backpack brigade” notation in the memo section, and mailed c/o Ramsey Higa, Donor Relations, Developement & Communications Office, 1001 Bishop St., Suite 780, Honolulu, HI 96813.
The Guildas will do the shopping and distribution.
