The hovercraft (it supported Mayor Bernard Carvalho Jr. during the Wilcox School STEM Night, too!) was part of the Kauai Chamber of Commerce second quarter general membership meeting (great job with the overall decorations and layout, Laurie Yoshida, Stephanie Iona, Paul Toner and the Kauai Marriott crew, Mark Perriello, Carol Manera Texeira and Anna Baudouin!) where our police chief and fire chief were honored for their retirements.
Ask coach Bill Arakaki about that virtual reality experience (Fred Cowell and the Kauai Coffee guys have one, too, but had their drones on hand instead) put on by the Cognitions program at Kauai Community College, and where were our robotics guys to challenge those Molokai visitors?
And the STEM excitement continues as Victoria Lam, the children’s librarian at the Lihue Public Library, hosted an overflow crowd (mahalo to all the egg survivors for sharing their eggs so Jason Cope could see if his mystery challenge worked) to its fourth event of the summer.
OK, time to go see who’s going to get the big fish at Brad Hiranaka’s first-ever Kauai Youth Football shoreline fishing tournament!
