PUHI — Island School’s Voyager Booster Club recently sponsored an athletic awards banquet for athletes who participated in high school competitive athletics for the 2017-18 school year.
There were 146 students who represented 20 teams and were enrolled in grades nine through 12 this past year. Of those recognized, 115 played varsity and junior varsity athletics.
Twenty-six student-athletes were named Kauai Interscholastic Federation All-Stars, and 16 earned varsity letter jackets. Students earn a jacket by meeting criteria established in each of the varsity sports they participate in with the minimum number of varsity sports being three.
