NAWILIWILI — Ten of the 18 students attended the Zonta Club of Hanalei’s Scholarship Luncheon Saturday to accept their awards of $1,000 each at the Nawiliwili Yacht Club clubhouse.
NAWILIWILI — Ten of the 18 students attended the Zonta Club of Hanalei’s Scholarship Luncheon Saturday to accept their awards of $1,000 each at the Nawiliwili Yacht Club clubhouse.
Traditionally, the ceremony is hosted on the North Shore.
However, due to the mud slides and limited access to roads, this year’s ceremony was relocated to Lihue, said Zontian Carroll Gerow.
This year’s scholarship recipients include Mia Ricciardi, Anna Hawks, Haven Luper-Jasso, Jayda Oyamot-Campos, Karlie O’Rourke, Isabella Kotsol, Danica Ola, Leilani Higashi, Kimberly Matutina, Helena Huffman, Jonnika Mae Alumpe, Frances Morden, Daneica-Rose Muraoka, Callie Parsons, Sierra Perry, Haley Soller, and Rukiyah Walker.
Since starting the scholarship program, the Zonta Club of Hanalei has distributed $121,100 to 138 local area women.
