He is available daily at the Camp Naue fuel distribution point from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Hanalei Colony Resort.
Pumps are available in Haena to drain some of the standing water in the affected areas.
KEMA’s EOC continues to work toward opening multiple Disaster Recovery Centers (DRC) across the island, with a priority to open a center in the isolated Wainiha-Haena community. These centers will serve as a hub for flood victims to gather information. Updates on the status of Kauai’s DRCs will be provided when more information is available.
FEMA Joint Preliminary Damage Assessments for the Public Assistance grant program commenced today to assess overall impacts caused by the severe weather, flooding and landslide events.
Other teams went door-to-door through neighborhoods in Keapana and Kalihiwai today to conduct residential damage assessments. Teams will continue assessments tomorrow between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. to the areas reported by the public. If you are a property owner or renter that suffered damages, please visit www.kauai.gov or call KEMA at 241-1800 for more information or to make your report.
