Mahalo to Coach Dave Walker (he couldn’t stay away from the track meet following last week’s Rotary Track and Field meet!) for updating the results where Kauai High School tracksters finished the night by taking the boys and girls team scoring. Congratulations to Taegan Keep on getting the top female honor, and Island School’s Joshua Graves for getting the top male honor for the Rotary meet.

Tori Kagawa said the Waimea Canyon Middle School athletes were thrilled with the rain at the Mayor’s Age Group Track Meet (kudos to James Kealalio and all those county Department of Parks and Recreation leaders on a great job!) because they could run without shoes.
Congratulations to Chucky Boy Chock, Maryanne Kusaka, and the Kauai Museum ohana on the new feather helmet and cloak for King Kaumuali‘i! The unveiling of the piece was complete with natural blessing of ua sprinkling the event at the right time, and even pulled Warren Perry out of his Lawai habitat. Kudos to kumu hula Leina‘ala Pavao-Jardin and her Ka Lei Mokihana O Leina‘ala dancers on the chicken-skin tribute to Kaumuali‘i.
