Ed Kawamura said he’s been doing the petting zoo on Easter for more than 20 years at the Kauai Marriott Resort and Beach Club. He got help from his ‘ohana (Ed calls it a Family Day) and friends like Kenny Ishii (he should’ve brought his son, too) who got to enjoy the Easter buffet at Kukui’s in between shifts.

Lily Wolf got a real bunny for Easter and Ava and Hailey Ray of Chicago even brought out Flat Stanley to enjoy the Easter animals (ever see colored chicks, like blue, purple, and even red?).
Congratulations to Laurie Nakama and her MS Walk ‘ohana on a great event (even Ed Kawamura was walking with his ‘ohana) Saturday afternoon at the Kapaa Beach Park, and mahalo to the Kauai Christian Fellowship for sharing the tents set up for the Easter services.
OK, time to get ready for the Garden Fair on Saturday where the Kauai Master Gardeners are all set up with seeds, plants, and all kinds of information to help the garden. Jan Woo of Barkaroo said she’s going to have all kinds of pet goodies (what? no fashion show?), and don’t forget to drop in on the Boy Scouts Makahiki taking place behind the Hanalei Taro food truck.
