Kudos to Angela Hoover (she’s the new Girl Scout Kauai Island coordinator!), who got this year’s allocation of Girl Scout cookies and had them out so the market sales could start as early as Friday afternoon (check out Richard Stein, who’s going to be at Safeway Kauai Village this afternoon) for the eight different flavors (no new one this year), including the gluten-free Toffeetastics, and the Samoas with no artificial flavors … hurry, you only have until March 31 (or until the flavors start running out). And, to make life easier, check out the Girl Scout website, gshawaii.org, for locations of the market sales … major ones are Safeway, Times Supermarket and Walmart!

Kudos, too to Pearl Shimizu (she’s already got the Hinamatsuri, or Girls’ Day, display up at Kukui Grove Center!), and Art Umezu on another Ho‘onani Kauai festival where kumu hula Mapuana Kazama (and where was Marilyn Matsumoto and the Ukulele Paradise?) got her hula dancers to perform free at both The Coconut Marketplace and Kukui Grove Center.
Congratulations to Anna Balazar and her Studio BARRE &Soul Kauai ohana on opening the Rice Street location via a Kauai Chamber of Commerce ribbon-
cutting ceremony!
OK, time to go check out Richard and the Girl Scouts at Safeway, Kauai Village.
