Nominations open for outstanding older Americans

LIHUE — The public is invited to submit nominations for the 2018 Outstanding Male and Female Older American awards.

The goal of the program is to pay tribute to adults 65 and older who have made exceptional contributions to their community through service and/or special projects.

Nomination forms are available at the county Agency on Elderly Affairs Monday through Friday. The AEA is at the Lihue Civic Center Pi‘ikoi Building Suite 330.

The deadline to submit nominations is March 9.

Nominees will be honored at an awards ceremony in May. Those selected will represent Kauai at a ceremony on Oahu in June.

The theme for this year’s Older American’s Month is “Engage at Every Age” in May.
