Samira Siale’s Canadian ‘ohana was so proud of husband Tyrus’ promotion, they flew in special to congratulate him during the Kauai Fire Dept. pinning ceremony, Monday where 22 promotions were recognized, including Solomon Kanoho (he kept trying to find places to duck into) who is a Battalion Chief along with Gary Hudson (he’s come a long way since the days of coaching soccer with new Fire Captain Curtis Langstad!).
Harvey Maeda (he forgot his chamois), Richard Aki, Bobby Paik was having fun having their classic cars on display at the Kauai Culinary Market at The Shops at Kukuiula (Stacie Chiba Miguel said she’s finalizing the Chinese New Year festivities for Feb. 16’s Year of the Dog!). They’ll be having a car show, Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the back parking lot (by CVS Long’s and Bubba Burgers) with about 40 cars (pray for clear weather) on display.
Mark Oyama said the Kauai Community College culinary arts people (Beth Tokioka and Marty Amaro did it, last year) will be having advance sale tickets to the 32nd Annual American Culinary Federation, Kauai Chapter, Breakfast on sale at the Kauai Community Market starting this Saturday for the Feb. 18 breakfast (all you can eat!).
