KAILUA-KONA, Hawaii — Authorities say an hourslong standoff on the Big Island has been resolved peacefully.
West Hawaii Today reports that the situation began Monday morning when a landlord tried to evict a 28-year-old woman, later identified as Britney Wolf.
Maj. Robert Wagner says the landlord was met with opposition. He says Wolf fired a shot toward the landlord, prompting the property owner to call police.
Wagner says Wolf had barricaded herself inside a truck on the property by the time police arrived. He says she initially refused to speak to officers.
The county’s Special Response Team and an armored vehicle were called to the scene, and Wagner says Wolf fired one shot at the vehicle.
Wagner says that after hours of probing, Wolf was talked down and surrendered.
Nobody was injured.
