WAILUA — Geotechnical work will be performed at Lydgate Beach Park on Monday and at the adjacent Lydgate Park sports fields from Wednesday to Friday to allow the county Department of Public Works Wastewater Management Division to evaluate the subsurface soil conditions at each site.
At Lydgate Beach Park, work will be on the mauka end of the park in the large, grassy area near the Hilton Garden Inn Kauai Wailua Bay.
Work at the sports fields will be done throughout the area. The work will consist of geotechnical borings and percolation tests to determine the depth of groundwater. The borings will be backfilled when the work is done.
The work will be performed in a manner to minimize impact to the public as much as possible, according to a county press release.
