Mahalo to Ken and Teena Starr of Island Comfort for the great contribution to Tina Albao and all the Boys &Girls Club Hawaii people! The presentation was great, and watching all those happy keiki trying to figure out what to do with the shark swimming caps was definitely worthy of a television show, or Mokihana Aquatics Coach Orlando “O” Anaya going crazy with happiness.

It was also nice to have Jake Thorp notice that old building (portable buildings behind the Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall in Lihue) that needs attention so the keiki can get to use it instead of just sitting there. Hopefully there are other people who see it and can get together with him to get it to become more functional instead of just sitting there.
Mahalo to Tori Kagawa (she got to see some of those off-island preseason wrestling matches) for keeping Joyce Evens clued in on the Kauai Interscholastic Federation soccer matches (it’s pretty neat to see how Manny Henriques and his son Alex work on spelling bee — district bee coming up Thursday — practice during the game) so the basketball fans can get the latest updates.
OK, off to see how Grace Delos Reyes and the Retired Senior Volunteer Program volunteers are doing with the school supplies drive (they do another one on Jan. 20 at Times and Kmart) that is part of the Martin Luther King Day observance.
