LIHUE — Kawai Peahu said his son Karsen can do anything he wants to.

Karsen Kana‘i Kawaiola Peahu was born at 10:50 a.m. Tuesday at Wilcox Medical Center to become the first baby born on Kauai in 2018.

“We were waiting on him,” said Leiana Alejandro, Karsen’s mother.

“He’s finally here, and he’s healthy. That’s the main thing.”

The first child for Alejandro and Peahu of Kalaheo, Karsen came into the world at 7 pounds, 9.6 ounces and measured 19-1/2 inches.
