Coco Palms project is win-win
I am shocked and dismayed that you would commission Mr. Parachini to, one, write such a biased article full of innuendo with vague and misleading statements, and then, two, print it on your front page.
The progress made by the current developers to breathe life back into the iconic Coco Palms Resort in the last two-plus years is by far more than anyone, including the county, over the past 20, and should be celebrated, not condemned.
Mr. Parachini’s slanted perspectives do not take into account the investment that has been spent to date on the project, nor does it take into account the work that has been done in working with the community in ensuring that the project is a win-win for everyone.
I urge those who support the project to make your voices heard, and I challenge The Garden Island to be more responsible to submit objective reports on newsworthy events.

You couldn’t find a worse site for a resort on Kauai if you tried. Clean it out and then let it go.
The whole place will be under water well before something could be built anyway. We have much more important work to do than to try to bring back a past that is long gone. Nobody cares about Elvis anymore.
I don’t have much opinion about Coco Palms, but I totally agree that Mr. Parachini is troll.
Not enough guest. If they build it. Room rates must be in range with local prices. They have not figured this out yet.
Never heard of Kekaha town, Hanapepe town.
But 366 internet votes. 4.5 to one family. Is about 2.3% of population of Kaua’i. The county council have a few donuts.

I would much rather see the land turned into a public park. And tear down the old Sea Shell restaurant across the highway while they’re at it and provide improved access and parking for Wailua Beach Park.
