Two-year-old Angie has speech delays. She receives therapy services with Easter Seals Early Intervention on Kauai. She lives with her mother, grandfather and one sibling in a small home. Her mother and grandfather are committed to helping Angie progress in her therapy. More than anything, they would appreciate financial assistance to purchase some books and toys.
Carl is a young male with a disability. He is a good son who tries his best to listen to his mother. It doesn’t take much to keep him happy. He enjoys gardening, fishing and fixing and riding dirt bikes which helps keep him out of trouble.
The problem is, his dirt bike broke down, so this Christmas he would like another dirt bike and fishing gear.
The TGI/Zonta Christmas Fund received a boost this year when the Hale Uluwehi Kauai Fund pledged to match donations of $100 or more up to $5,000. When the $5,000 mark was hit, the pledge was increased to $10,000.
Donations to the Christmas Fund are distributed by Zonta Club members, who purchase gift certificates at local stores to make wishes come true for those in need. While real names aren’t used, the circumstances described are real.
There are no administrators collecting salaries. This is all done by volunteers.
Only monetary donations are accepted. Checks, payable to Zonta Club of Kauai Foundation, can be mailed to P.O. Box 3032, Lihue, HI 96766. Info: 822-4517
