Happy birthday to Miss Teen Garden Isle Isabel Gampon, who celebrated her birthday helping Miss Kauai Teen Kaira Ka‘aihue at the Kauai Chamber of Commerce fourth quarter (might as well call it the Christmas party) general membership meeting at the Kauai Marriott Resort and Beach Club! Kudos to Carol Manera Texeira (she hasn’t been to a girls’ basketball game yet) and Anna Baudouin on putting together the sold-out event where both Laurie Yoshida and Stephanie Iona had out-of-town guests.

More kudos to Kealoha Takahashi, Donna Olivas-Kaohi and the county Agency on Elderly Affairs (Wow! New faces in the ohana) on hosting the annual Retired Senior Volunteer Program Recognition luncheon (Clyde Kodani — his wife Helena was a big winner at the chamber meeting — said he kept his speech short because Marian Ogata wanted to eat) to recognize the volunteerism from Kauai RSVP volunteers. (See the story and photos, A6 and A8.)

Stu Burley was already on his second stop after having to do a rocket presentation at Kapaa High School, and this is one of the few times Nelson Batalion wasn’t around doing his magic for the Aqua Kauai Beach Resort.

OK, enjoy your Sunday … next week is Christmas Eve!
