HANALEI — Kauai police are searching for the driver involved in a hit-and-run accident on Saturday night in Hanalei.
According to a preliminary investigation, a dark-colored sedan traveling north on Kuhio Highway fronting the Tahiti Nui restaurant apparently struck a 47-year-old male visitor from Canada along the road about 9 p.m.
The man sustained lacerations to his head and was transported to Wilcox Hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries, according to a county statement.
The sedan left the scene before officers arrived and police have not yet located the car or driver. The investigation continues.
