HANALEI — Kauai police are searching for the driver involved in a hit-and-run accident on Saturday night in Hanalei.

According to a preliminary investigation, a dark-colored sedan traveling north on Kuhio Highway fronting the Tahiti Nui restaurant apparently struck a 47-year-old male visitor from Canada along the road about 9 p.m.

The sedan left the scene before officers arrived and police have not yet located the car or driver. The investigation continues.

This should be solved by the end of the day. 7 of 10 autos on the island are Pick-up trucks. “Dark Sedan”? Hit the Car Rental Companies, then hit DMV for “Dark Sedan”. Solved.
