LIHUE — Complimentary appetizers and extended brunch hours, free shipping and dozens of discounts are on tap for Kauai’s Black Friday, and the festivities have already begun.
Déjà Vu Surf Hawaii is starting their deals at 7 a.m. on Black Friday, and the first 100 guests to make a purchase of $50 or more at Kapaa and Kukui Grove stores will receive a free Déjà Vu T-shirt.
The surf stores will offer 30 percent off discounts on most regular-priced items between 7 and 10 a.m., and a 25 percent discount on items from 10 a.m. through closing.
“Black Friday shopping is an exciting time for us and our customers,” said Sara Miura, sales and marketing director at Déjà Vu Surf Hawaii.
She continued: “On Black Friday, our stores are usually hustling and bustling with shoppers getting a jump start on their holiday gift shopping.”
Quicksilver, in The Shops at Kukuiula in Poipu, is offering $9 Roxy pouches, $12 Roxy women’s slippers, and $36 for Quiksilver windbreakers on Friday, and 25 percent off all regular-price items through Sunday.
Discount Fabric Warehouse is offering big Black Friday discounts, including a Singer Stylist II electronic sewing machine for $199, which is 50 percent off. The Baby Lock Basic, usually $299, will be $129.
Aloha Furniture Gallery in Lihue is having up to 50 percent off Friday and Saturday.
Macy’s is pulling out the Black Friday Doorbuster deals with big discounts on jewelry, shoes and boots, handbags, clothes and beauty products.
It’s offering 10 free doorbuster deals after the mail-in rebate.
Pick up a Ninja blender, usually $289.99, for $129.99 during special hours.
Longs Drugs, open today, is offering an array of deals, including buy one get one free on Casio watches, a case of Aquafina drinking water for $3.99, Hot Wheels toy cars are 10 for $8 and Trident smoked salmon is $6.99.
If you have a pet, check out Petco’s deals. It’s offering buy one, get one 50 percent off on some dog foods, 50 percent off apparel for dogs and the entire stock of two-door crates; and $99.99 will get you a self-cleaning automatic litter box.
Home Depot has storewide deals, including a 268-piece mechanics tool set for $99, a wet/dry vacuum for $39.88 and washer/dryer sets going for $700 off regular price.
Fred Cowell, general manager Kauai Coffee, said they’ll be having sales and promotions, as well as a bit of new merchandise — clothing and reusable cups — in their Kalaheo gift shop.
The visitor’s center will be offering the usual kama’aina discount, but also free shipping to the mainland and within Hawaii with a $50 purchase.
On the North Shore, a sidewalk sale at the Ching Young Village is one of the main events, hosted by Hanalei Surf Backdoor.
“Some of the other tenants will be holding their own in-store sale specials,” said Geoffrey Culverhouse, manager and partner ant Ching Young Village.
Kukui Grove Center’s 24th annual Christmas parade is 5 p.m. Saturday.
