Different spellings of obnoxious
In Monday’s Nov. 6, TGI cartoonist Stahler shows a man asking a woman “What’s a 5-letter word for “obnoxious’?” “T-R-U-M-P” is her response.
Poor woman is a terrible speller. The correct letters are “O-B-A-M-A”.

Drivers, please just pay attention
I would like to thank Allan Faye and James Beardmore for bringing up the subject of tailgating.
This is a dangerous thing to do and I must apologize since I have been guilty of this practice. I am aware and when ever I find myself following too close I immediately back off. So, I am sorry, but let me point out a few things.
Whenever I get too close, it is usually someone in front of me going 5-10 miles below the posted speed limit. There is nothing wrong with that and as long as the driver in front of me is keeping a steady pace it is fairly simple to adjust.
On a similar note, something not nearly as dangerous but equally irritating is the drivers who need to maintain half of a football field between themselves and the car in front of them.
This happens regardless of how fast we are going and usually involves texting and driving, (which is illegal). When this happens, the result is not only do I miss a lot of lights, but plenty of cars that should be behind me are then in front of me.
In no way is this an excuse for tailgating, it is just a contributing factor in my daily commute. I would just like to tell other drivers, (and you know who you are) it is not always all about the journey. Some of us actually need to get somewhere. Be safe out there.

Lots to desire about government
The “Fifth Sense” is a must read book, as is “KPD Blue” and “Superferry Chronicles.” I would vote for Ken Taylor all day every day, but then again, only U.S. citizen voters purple people eater makes voting a big mistake status quo, on the part of those brainwashed to believe in any of the past or present over 50 years. Really? No voting! Boycott voting in any of US rigged gigs.

CSPAN had a wonderful military congressional meeting video that outlined PMRF 2022 upgrades and thus 01/2017, staging at a Civilian Airport, are now regularly seen USAF F22-Raptors or Osprey off PMRF runway. Where did the wonderful legends and kanikapila go?

First I want to thank TGI for allowing someone who is a guest on Kauai to post opinions. I have writen several opinions from a guest/tourist view. When I hear both officials and residence complain about the congestion that is happening on Kauai it makes me wonder. I have seen this change first hand just in the 15 years I have been visiting. For me, someone who books travel to the island, the most obvious way to curb the growth of tourist thus limit the congestion is to limit accomidation options. When I hear people wanting to limit rental cars it would change the experience of Kauai. Kauai is meant to be wandered. Slow and leisurely. Yes a better transit system that would allow guests in Kapaa, Princeville, and Poipu, to go from some of the outer limits to downtown or shopping areas would be helpful. Buses to the beaches won’t work because of all the gear people carry for a day at the beach. And often and day at the beach leads to dinner on the way back to wherever they are staying. No one wants to carry beach gear to a restaurant. But if Kauai were to quit building resorts and limit the places people can stay then only X number of tourists could be on Island at any given time. I do get frustrated when I hear complaining yet there is another story about a new resort. Stop building resorts. That to me seems to be the easiest solution the the congestion caused by tourist. The bottom line in my option is Kauai needs to decide what they want to be. I would like to see Kauai limit resorts and stay what Kauai is, the Garden Island. I dont want it to become another Maui.

The military will have to intercept the missiles if fired from North Korea. They would have to time it to within 30 seconds to 1 minutes before it reaches its destination. That is really high caliber technology. Do you think the navy can do it?
I read from another article that those missiles can travel up to or more than 24,000 mph. That means in about 10 to 13 minutes, it can reach Hawai’i. From North Korea. That is if they have the technology.
I don’t necessarily subscribe to O-B-A-M-A. But if it fits the politically correct, more people do subscribe to him being him or black, sometimes white. He’s gone further than Martin Luther King jr.
