LIHUE — Kaulana Finn, regional director for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kauai, was ecstatic.

“This is the most money we’ve ever collected,” Finn said during the Rock & Bowl for kids’ sake fundraising event at the Kauai Bowl. “We had a goal of $30,000 and have gone past that. The bowling tournament sold out, again! And, it sold out, early.”

Dennis Brown, CEO and president for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hawaii, announced Angela Rice as the Big Sister of the Year, the announcement bringing forth a smile of pride, admiration, and affection from Brianna Sunada, Rice’s Little Sister.

Nicole Cowan, case manager and Match Coach for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kauai, said the Kauai program has more than 50 matches it administers.

“This is one program that makes an impact on young people,” said Mark Oyama. “And, it’s a lot of fun!”
