Congratulations to Randie Peters on breaking the 16-minute mark on his attempt at the Make A Wish Plank Challenge! Sharon Lasker (she went out and delivered all her toys after being unable to find a drop site) said Randie’s plank might not win the national challenge, but he was happy to break 16 minutes Wednesday after his first attempt came up seconds short of 12 minutes.
Kudos, too, to the Kumu’s Cupboard board on making the Grove Farm matching grant. Elyse Litvack said they had a surge of late gifts to wrap before Christmas with donors contributing a donation and Grove Farm matching the contribution to a maximum of $5,000.
Best wishes to Jane Gray (she never got back from picking up lunch at Konohiki’s) as she starts a new journey on the Big Island. Wilma Chandler was tracking Jane’s progress until she hit voice mail, but the clock was ticking so “Aloha, oe, and best wishes!” When does Chucky Boy Chock start as the Kauai Museum (volunteer Kay Nakata said her son Steven got to prepare some food for President Barack Obama and Japan Prime Minister Shinzo Abe!) director?
Happy New Year, Kauai! Be safe!
